Q: What was your first job?

A: My first job was at a fast food restaurant cooking chicken while I was still in high school. The wages were less than $1 per hour and the work wasn’t easy. I was required to wear a white shirt, which was ruined after one day of work. This job taught me how to work hard and persevere. I had to lift heavy boxes and overcome a fear of open flames and large quantities of hot grease while working in extreme temperatures.

Q: What do you believe brings clients to Williams Adley?

A: I believe that our clients come to Williams Adley because of our unique combination of services and experience. I think our clients like our large firm capabilities and our small firm personalized service.

Q:  How do you keep a competitive edge?

A: I talk to my colleagues and competitors quite a bit. I also take a fair amount of professional training and do lots of reading on my own. Things in the profession are moving rapidly and it’s a real challenge to keep current.

Q: Name one of your talents that benefits clients most.

A: I have been on both sides of the table and besides being responsible for issuing audit reports, I have had been a member of senior management in several large public companies which provides me with dual perspectives on audit issues.

Q: How do you spend your time outside of the office?

A: I have served on a school board for almost 20 years, which takes a lot of my free time. I like to read, play golf and I work out 4-5 times a week. I also enjoy drawing and painting and have a guitar that I like to play when time permits.

Q: What quote or saying guides your professional and/or personal life?

A: The function of education is to teach one to think intensively and to think critically... Intelligence plus character - that is the goal of true education.” - Martin Luther King, Jr.
